Ugandan president Yoweri kaguta museveni has been sworn in today as he looks to serve his 6th term. In an election that was mad with irregularities according to local and international observes it was a tight race between Bobiwine and museveni.

The government has been accused severally of rigging the elections and use of excessive police and military force against Bobiwime which jas seen a number of Ugandan government officials being sanctioned not to travel to the United States. After museveni was declared the winner ,Bobiwine sought to go court but later withdrew the petition in what he said he lacked confidence with the judicial system.

Most of African presidents were in attendance at the ceremony including Uhuru kenyatta of Kenya who is the current chair of EAC. Museveni in his annual speech emphasized that the elections were over and that the country should go back to rebuilding and more development to the people.

For long now a number of European countries have raised concern over musevenis long reign in power and observe that its time he leaves power to the younger generation who are still struggling for democratic space in Uganda.
