Former chief justice Evans Gicheru has passed on today morning. The retired CJ David Maraga announced his death on Saturday, December 26, morning. “I am deeply saddened to announce the demise of retired justice Evans Gicheru which occurred this morning,” Maraga said in a statement He served as the country’s Chief Justice between February 2003 and February 2011.He is also famous for swearing mwai kibaki hurriedly during the highly contested 2007 elections that spatted the post election violence.
