Safaricom has been a major telecommunication industry that has served Africa and the world at large. However, since it’s inception in Kenya it has never been led by a Kanyan. It’s longest serving CEO the late Bob Collymore made tremendous achievements that lifted the company’s position being a leading company in East and Central Africa.
Michael Joseph took over as an interim CEO from July 2019 until Peter Ndegwa was successfully vetted in few months ago. Ndegwa has had a wonderful history in telecommunication industry as he has worked both overseas and beyond Africa in Telecommunication industry. He is set to officially take over today as the new CEO and become the first Kenyan ever to lead the largest successful Company.
